    LAKE CHARLES – Five home games, including Southland Conference matchups with Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern State, highlights McNeese football's 2017 schedule that was released on Wednesday.

    In addition to the 2017 schedule release, McNeese director of athletics Bruce Hemphill has announced a home-and-home series with Big Sky Conference member Northern Colorado that will take the Cowboys to Greely, Colorado in 2018 followed by a return trip from the Bears to Cowboy Stadium in 2020.

    Within the past month, McNeese has announced game contract signings with BYU (2018), Southern (2019), LSU (2021), Alcorn State (2017 and 2019), Oklahoma State (2019), West Florida (2021), and now Northern Colorado (2018 and 2020).

    Texas Tech will host Abilene Christian at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock on Aug. 31, 2024 and again on Sept. 5, 2026. The two schools have met nine times overall and Texas Tech holds a 6-3 lead.

    The UTEP Miners have added the Houston Baptist Huskies for 2019 and have scheduled a home-and-home football series with New Mexico for 2021 and 2022, FBSchedules.com has learned.

    UTEP will host Houston Baptist at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas to open the 2019 season on Aug. 31. The Miners will pay the Huskies a $325,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from UTEP via a public records request.

    New Mexico will open the 2021 season at home against the Houston Baptist Huskies on Sept. 4. HBU will receive a $385,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract.

    Houston Baptist played a developmental season in 2013 and officially began playing football during the 2014 season. They are a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

    Ole Miss has added three opponents to their 2022 non-conference football schedule: Troy on Sept. 3 ($1.5 million), Central Arkansas on Sept. 10 ($475,000), and Tulsa on Sept. 24 ($1.45 million).

    The Rebels are also scheduled to travel to Georgia Tech on Sept. 17.
