    - SHSU recently offered JUCO center Josh Boutte (6'6) from Dodge City Community College. Supposedly he has committed.
    - SHSU offered 6'8 Greg Calixte from NY, but he committed to George Mason.
    - SHSU offered 6'5 Zhaire Smith from Garland Lakeview Centenniel, but he committed to Texas Tech.

In 2017-18 the team will consist of:

Seniors - Jamal Williams, Chris Galbreath, Jessie Lopez and Demetrius Levarity
Juniors - Josh Delaney, John Dewey, Devin Jackson, Abrian Edwards, Jeremy Treaudo, Cameron Delaney and Albert Almanza
    Sophomores - Justin Van Pelt
Freshmen - Bubba Furlong and Chidozie NDU

OK, AD Williams is now settled to have Hooten as the SHSU basketball coach in 2017. While I have had issues with Hooten, he wins games against some weak team is the preseason but he is a winner. Hooten is a junior college transfer guy - hard to get high school players on the team to make a quick difference. I will support Hooten for 2017 - the kats are going to Alaska in 2017. Great exposure for SHSU on the nation stage.

Our recruiting class is shaping up to be a very, very good one. Bubba Furlong had offers from other big schools and we beat those schools out for him. Really skilled post player. Very nice sign. Ndu is 6'11 with a 7'5 wingspan. We beat out Southern Illinois for him. Will be nice having these 2 big guys around for 4 years. Devin Jackson can flat out shoot it. One of the best shooter is JC last year. He will be a really nice addition. The kid I am really excited about is Marcus Harris 6'1. He sit out last year after transferring from San Diego. Can really shoot it and score. Started over 20 games for them as a soph. Abrian is a really nice get as well. 6'5 wing who can do a lot of things! Was a top 20 kid in Texas his senior year in HS. Josh Boutte from Dodge City will be a flat out stud for us. I have seen him play. He rebounds the ball like a mad man. Wouldn't surprise me if he led the league in rebounding. He had committed early to UNCW and after the coaching change we were the first ones on him. He had a 30 point 20 rebound game last year againt Buter County CC who is also a really good team. Treado didn't sign with us. The future is bright for Kat basketball.
